Blooming Boomers - We like them!

Blooming Boomers - We Like Them!  I recently read an article suggesting that Boomers are expected to change housing priorities, AGAIN!  The source of the article was "Boomers Set to Reshape Housing Market Again", Chicago Tribune, 2/13/2011.

The article goes on to say that they are expected to re-emerge in to the Real Estate Market soon, but will come with different requirements when they look for homes.  Developers and Builders will have to go back to the drawing board.  Douglas Van Lerberghe, a land planner in Denver recently spoke during the National Association Conference last month in Orlando.  He was quoted as saying"developers and builders will have to rethink their philosophy when designing communities and homes that are intended for that age group"

Some of the housing experts are predicting that boomers due to retire will want a variety of "different" housing styles, including smaller square footage, and developments that are restricted to the "older" buyer.  Some of the "younger" boomers may continue to work, so the location of the home closer to their job will be important, as well as floor plans to be included for "home offices".  For recreation, walking trails will be a number 1 priority, as well as gated "security" communities and larger storage space in garages.

What are your thoughts, have any of you seen the re-emergence of our Blooming Boomers again?  Speaking from experience, I am seeing them pop out like the first flowers of spring!  Treasure Coast Breaking News.
